An overinflated sky
lays low above the trees
stripped bare of dignity
so honest these hues
of green, peach, and brown
hiding the cliche of blue.
she's losing her fight
-tears hit my shoulders-
she's fading fast
There's no way to help
her pain so deep
but to give her time
blackness will swallow
all that is left
and we'll start again; anew
After the rain.

...the rain that falls
chill, from the dark sky
allowing only a single ray
entrance, illuminating
all the hopes in her heart
as if they were shining
metal or brilliant glass
and they once again,
now clean, show the world
that hope is real
mmmmm. yes. so good dave... you are brilliant!
