Stained Glass

Fractured light beats its wings
Against a freckled stage
Mingling in a waltz with blues and greens
The bending of such an illumination
Makes up an image bright and bold
Softened by golden muted hues reminiscent
There is a sky, a canopied backdrop
To announce the brilliance of hope
With ringing bells encased in towers
Full of bustling prayers and needy thoughts
I only see reflected light.
How, Lord, do you see it all
Unveiled?

the thoughts that go through my head when I read this...

we see just a reflection of the world as it is, one dimension, and while it is beautiful, it is only a very small piece of the reality of things...

I imagine it would be overwhelming for people as finite as us, to be able to sense and take in everything about the world, things unveiled as they really are in their entirety...

what a burst of glory and magnificence scored with pain and agony that would be...
