dreams even still...

dreaming opens one up for the precise movement of God's hand. In dreaming and in NOT becoming idle, we are moved. the hardness of our hearts is softened, and we are quited as children at the heartbeat of something steady and much greater than we are. but we have forgotten what it is to dream. we have forgotten what it is to say please and thank you. we have forgotten that every moment spent with another human being is one moment in the kingdom of god. love penetrates all things. it covers and envelopes. it humbles, quiets, and stirs. this ebb and flow constantly changes the beauty in the horizon, but the sun remains. what i am sustained by is that i serve a God that asks me to dream and tap into his power, watching and waiting for the day he will move. and when i am still enough, i can begin to see the steps he is taking to get me there. this is all so beautiful, friends. i hope you are experiencing God in the small bigness of life!

thinking about this, it hits me that it sounds really weird that dreaming about things which sometimes seem impossible could be steadying and comforting and yet I know from experience that it is... pushing into the realm of uncertainty, but with the realization that we have a God who has first of all given us such incredible passions and desires, and secondly, who is SOOOOOO BIG. we all see around us how much destruction can be caused by apathy and hate, greed, pride... what a lot of us don't see is the softening and warmth and healing of love. which is why it is so important - you may be the only one who ever shows a person love, and that might be the one thing that saves them. and love is not a one way street - it changes you too. to give of yourself and expect nothing in return... it makes the stars laugh and the desert beautiful even if it does sometimes make you sad. how did we come to believe that everything was impossible? i'm starting a new trend... that isn't new at all, just to me... we can do all things through Him who strengthens us... what a ride life is! it really is beautiful.
